Personal Growth

At Camp Rising Sun, you’ll participate in daily activities that not only build relationships with your cabin mates, but build stronger character. While no camper is ever forced to complete any activity, each one is encouraged to find new inner strengths and enjoy activities he or she never thought possible- such as riding a pony, performing in front of a crowd, or cruising on the zip line! You never know, you just might find your new favorite hobby at Camp Rising Sun!

Leadership Opportunities

Bridging the gap between our campers and counselors is the CIT program. Former campers often wish to give back after they have phased out of being a camper. Our CIT program trains and directs these former campers to become not only outstanding counselors, but strong leaders in their communities.

Cabin Community

Camp Rising Sun is all about family and a camper’s “home away from home” is his or her cabin. Campers share their time with their cabins mates for meals, activities, and camp-wide competitions. It’s no surprise that many laughs, and maybe a few tears, are shed throughout the week at Camp Rising Sun as campers grow closer to kids their own age who have experienced similar life-altering events. The relationships formed at Camp Rising Sun impact our campers for a lifetime.
